Breast Uplift Procedures

Breast Uplift also known as Mastopexy refers to a collection of plastic surgery operations designed to raise the nipple and change the shape of a women's breast. This procedure may simply involve repositioning the nipple or may require surgically lifting the entire breast mound. This procedure is ideal for women whose breasts may be sagging and pendulous as a result of a relaxation of the breast ligaments as a result of  weight loss, age or having children. The actual volume may be fine but the breasts have lost their shape and tone and the nipples may point toward the ground.  However, if extra volume is desired due to a "flat tire appearance" then a breast uplift procedure may be combined with implants for the best overall result.

The breast plastic surgeon will carefully remove a small section of excess skin from each breast to lift the bustline. The incisions for a full breast lift are along the crease underneath the breast as well as around the areola with a vertical incision between the areola and the breast crease. A modified breast lift is simply around the areola. The result will give the patient's breasts a much more youthful appearance.
