How do I find out if I need a breast lift?
A consultation with one of our surgeons will assist you in learning of the options and risks involved in breast surgery. You will also be given advice as to what types of cosmetic breast surgery will best suit you and your current needs. Though our surgeons will offer expert insight, it is up to you to make the final decision. Keep in mind that your surgery should only be scheduled if both you and the doctor agree that there is a good chance that there will be a successful end result. The amount of loose skin you have on each of your breasts will determine the method and length of your surgery.
Will I end up with scarring?
In most circumstances the mastopexy scar is located around the nipple starting at the nipple and leading to the natural crease underneath the breast and then along the crease of the breast. The type of scarring will all depend on the method of breast lift used. Remember that the scar is not completely healed until a year after the surgery, while fresh pictures of breast lifts will show a red and puffy scar, don’t be alarmed. The long-term scar will be much less apparent.
What characteristics make a prime candidate for a breast lift?
Those with naturally small breasts that have experienced sagging will see the greatest benefit from the cosmetic surgery. Women with very large breasts may experience sagging again later on in life after the breast surgery. Make sure to talk to your surgeon prior to deciding on your surgery if you are planning on children in the near future as pregnancy may interfere you’re your results.
Will I need implants as well?
Your surgeon will be able to discuss your unique surgical needs. Sometimes women who have lost volume to their breasts will need implants along with a breast lift to gain a natural look. You may need to consider breast enlargement surgery to get the results you need.
Does a breast lift interfere with breast feeding?
Unfortunately breastfeeding is almost impossible after a breast lift. In most circumstances the milt ducts are severed during the surgery while the breasts are being repositioned.
