Facial Implants

Where do they put facial implants in the face?
The chin implant is placed through a small incision in the small crease below the underside of your chin. Cheek implatns are placed internall though the uper lip and sometimes externally via the lower eyelid if that area is being augmented as well. The jaw implant is put through the inside of the lower lip.
What degree of scarring will I see from this cosmetic surgery?
You will see little to no scarring from your cheek or jaw implant as they are placed from the inside of the mouth. The chin incision is hidden underneath the jaw inside the under jaw neck crease. Implants put through the lower eye are hidden similar to the lower eyelid lift procedure at the edge of the eyelashes.
What are the potential complications with face implants?
As with any plastic surgery, they are certain side effects and risks. You will have normal post operative swelling and bruising which can last a few days. As with all implants there is a small risk of infection for which you will take prophalactic antiobiotics. To avoid shifting of the implants, they are generally fixed with screws or sutured internally. As with all cosmetic surgery, a reoperation may be required to get the optimal aesthetic result.
