Former Bond Girl Britt Ekland Admits to Plastic Surgery

Britt Ekland has led a very adventurous life. Recently the former Bond girl admitted to having plastic surgery, as well as other adventurous details about her life. 67-year old Britt Ekland recently admitted having had cosmetic surgery, which she deems ‘fantastic’.

The former Bond girl who starred with Roger Moore in 1974’s The Man With the Golden Gun has opened up about her life as she prepares for a one woman show about her life and loves, including Peter Sellers and Rod Stewart. “I think it’s wonderful,” Britt is quoted as saying, “But there should be an age limit. It should be absolutely forbidden for anyone under 40.”

“It’s for older people - to lift the chin here and take a couple of crow’s feet out there -not for young people who want to be bigger and plumper or thinner.” In the past, Britt has also trash talked Nicole Kidman and Victoria Beckham for their overdone plastic surgery appearances.

While it’s refreshing for Britt to be so open about having procedures, she has never revealed what they are.

Cosmetic Surgery on the rise.

A procedural survey conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) says more than 17 million cosmetic surgery procedures were performed in the U.S. in 2009.

The total number of procedures from this first-time study far surpasses any number that has previously been reported in the U.S. This is the first nationwide survey of its kind done by the AACS. In addition to the annual polling of its own members, the AACS also surveyed random physicians across the country to find out who is performing cosmetic surgery procedures.

The total number of procedures performed by AACS members has increased by eight percent since 2008.

Heidi Montag's Plastic Surgery

Heidi Montag's multiple surgical procedures have left friends and family worried for her health, but the surgery obsessed starlet refuses to stop.

Reality TV star Heidi Montag has been labelled a plastic surgery addict at the young age of 23. To date she has had 13 surgical procedures (10 of which were performed in one day) and sources say there is more surgery to come. Montag has always felt like 'the ugly duckling' of Hollywood and earlier this year decided to undergo a complete surgical transformation in order to create a 'better' version of herself.

Montag had rhinoplasty, a breast enlargement and fillers injected into her lips 3 years ago, but it seems that these procedures weren't enough to satisfy her hunger for physical perfection. In early 2010 she underwent 10 additional surgeries in one day, including Botox, a nose job revision, a mini brow lift, a chin reduction, fillers in her cheeks and lips, another breast augmentation (size DDD), liposuction on her waist and thighs, her ears pinned back, buttocks augmentation and neck liposuction.Montag claims that she is 'beyond obsessed' with plastic surgery but maintains that she is judged unfairly. According to Montag, many other stars undergo frequent surgical procedures; they are simply less open about it.

Montag's friends and family are worried for the starlet's physical and mental health, claiming that she is experiencing severe depression after the multitude of surgical procedures she's undergone. A source close to Montag reveals:

Daryl Hannah Lost Movie Roles Over Plastic Surgery Rumors

Daryl Hannah insists incorrect media speculation about her alleged cosmetic surgery procedures has cost her big movie roles.

The Splash star was angry when she discovered snaps of her at a beach had prompted gossip she had gone under the surgeon's knife - and she found offers from Hollywood drying up as a result.

She tells Britain's You magazine, "There are so many people in L.A. who have had cosmetic surgery and they all look like Muppets. There was a picture taken a while ago of me emerging from the ocean, with my hair slicked back and no make-up on. I looked as though I had puffy, squinty eyes and the rumor went round I'd had work done; I lost jobs because of it and I thought about suing, but in the States you have to prove malicious intent."

Hannah refuses to succumb to surgery as she ages, insisting the only operations she will undergo are doctor-recommended procedures.

She adds, "I've got a little jowly, and sometimes I look in the mirror and think, 'Oh my God', but I am too much of a coward to go under a surgeon's knife for something that wasn't life-saving. I've had knee and elbow operations, and I've broken my back three times, riding and performing movie stunts, and that gives you an appreciation of your body."

Despite the economy, under 50 females still embrace cosmetic treatments.

While the recession continues, a poll of 1,000 women conducted by E-poll showed that 63% 18-34 year olds and 73% 35-49 year olds thought positively of cosmetic procedures to hold back or reverse the signs of ageing.

The younger group favoured non-surgical treatments - 44% consider BOTOX to be a routine procedure and figures from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, an 8% increase in the treatment in 2008.

While these sorts of procedures are more commonly had by women, 70% of 18-34 year-olds thought it acceptable for men to have cosmetic work done.

Cosmetic Surgery & Makeover Wish List for 2010

The new year is a time when many of us commit to diet and exercise... But recent surveys by realself.com found that this year Americans are surprisingly open to a number of cosmetic makeovers.

In fact, according to a survey of 2,227 adults by Harris Interactive, over half all US adults (54%) would have cosmetic work if money was not an issue.  Of these, tummy tuck (29%) and liposuction (29%) were the "most wanted surgical procedures".  Looking at the female responses, a massive 39% of women wanted a tummy tuck to achieve a flat stomach profile and 15% of women were looking for breast enlargement, which is generally considered the most popular procedure.  Perhaps post-Christmas, we are more worried about our figures - too much egg nog?!
