Mommie Makeover

Are women childbearing at more advanced ages than in the past?
A report by demographers Wendy H. Baldwin and Christine W. Nord indicate that the current high figures on first births to women aged 25 to 34 are actually more related to the inflated numbers of baby boomers now in those ages more than a lifestyle choice. (Population Bulletin, 1984 Nov;39(4):1-42.)
Are mommie makeovers right for all mothers?
No. Plastic surgery will not replace self discipline, exercise, and good lifestyle habits. Furthermore, plastic surgery is not a panacea for the emotional acceptance of the changes that occure in life when you become a parent.
Will a mommie makeover get rid of my stretch marks?
There are many treatment options both surgical and non-surgical for stretch marks also called striae. In a mommy makeover, a tummy tuck will often remove the majority of stretch marks residing in the lower abdominal region.
Will I need time off from caring for my children?
Depending on the amount of surgery, you will need to dedicate some free time from child care. Lifting your child immediately after a tummy tuck for example will not be allowed. This will be an opportunity to get a break from babysitting.
