Will I have a say in the shape of my new ears?

Under most circumstances the surgeon will be able to meet your wants and needs upon speaking with you at your free consultation. There are certain things that need to be taken into account such as your general health which will be assessed upon your first meeting.

What is the healing time of my ear correction surgery?

Under most circumstances, seven to days minimum is recommended by surgeons before you are able to remove your dressing. It is pivotal to make all follow up appointments as this is crucial to your recovery.

What levels of scarring are typical for ear surgery?

Luckily for otoplasty patients, the surgeon is almost always able to perform the ear surgery procedure by making the incision behind the ear so the scars are next to invisible.

Is otoplasty painful?

The patient will experience no pain during the surgery as it is conducted under general anaesthesia. You will remain comfortable during the procedure but may experience minimal discomfort upon waking. Any pain experienced will be managed with medication and will usually go away within a few days.

Is pinnaplasty the same thing as otoplasty?

Yes. Pinnaplasty and Otoplasty are the two terms to describe ear correction procedures and both involve the same methods.
